This is a two pack of premeasured spices. It includes a recipe on the back that makes a delicious quick vegan cauliflower dinner. It is super easy and delicious.
This Moji Masala Gobi Masala Spice Blend is flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. I did not look up the official cooking video, but just used the “shopping list” of ingredients on the back of the pouch to prepare a meal: sautéing onion, garlic (plus extra garlic), a head of cauliflower plus some cabbage because we are a big family, tomatoes, (some tomato paste for extra flavor and color), salt, and one whole packet of the masala blend. I served the finished masala over rice and the whole family loved it. It was faster and easier to put together than measuring all the masala ingredients separately. However, since a whole package is used for one meal, this 2-pack does feel expensive. It may be worth it for those wanting a convenient and delicious home cooked meal.

How to Make Gobi Masala with moji masala®
- Cut one small head of cauliflower into small florets. Dice one small yellow onion, chop 3 garlic cloves, and dice one large ripe tomato.
- Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté for 3–4 minutes until golden and softened.
- Add the diced tomato and cook for another 2–3 minutes until it breaks down. Then add the entire moji masala® Gobi Masala packet and stir well to coat the mixture.
- Add the cauliflower florets and toss to coat evenly in the spiced base. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and a splash of water (2–4 tablespoons). Cover and cook on medium heat for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cauliflower is tender.
- Remove the lid and cook uncovered for a further 3–5 minutes to let any excess moisture evaporate and the spices caramelise. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with basmati rice or roti.
Total cooking time: approximately 30 minutes.
Can I use cabbage instead of cauliflower?
Yes — cabbage works beautifully with this spice blend and is a popular alternative in Indian home cooking. Slice the cabbage finely and adjust your cook time slightly, as cabbage softens faster than cauliflower.
Is Gobi Masala spicy?
Gobi Masala has a mild-to-medium heat level — bold and aromatic rather than intensely hot. It is a great choice for those who enjoy flavour with a gentle warmth. If you prefer less heat, add a teaspoon of plain yogurt or coconut milk to the pan when cooking.
